This week, Jeff Druek, CEO of Outer Reef Yachts, based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, announced that his company was merging with the Dutch builder of luxury long-range motors yachts and high end outboard yachts Lynx Yachts.
Long in the works, the merger brings together two brands that will expand the reach of both, Outer Reef into the European market and Lynx into the American and Australian markets.
Druek stated, “Expanding our presence in the Netherlands and integrating the highly regarded Lynx Yachts management team into our operations marks a significant milestone for Outer Reef Yachts. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and quality, enabling us to meet the growing demand for adventure yachting across Europe, the United States, Australia, and beyond.”
Under this new alliance, the Lynx shipyard with operate as Outer Reef Yachts- Netherlands. The first yacht to be built at the shipyard is the Outer Reef Yachts Adventure 780 which is due to launch in January 2025. The vessel marks a new chapter for Outer Reef and leads to the development of a range of models from 23 to 43 meters.
While the merger and expansion of the Outer Reef Yachts reach is now focused on Europe, the new business venture will open up markets for the Outer Reef Yachts brand worldwide, particularly in Asia and Oceana.
