This is not breaking news but it is good news. At this spring’s Palm Beach International Boat show it was announced to the public that DiMillo’s Yacht Sales and Dealership in Maine had acquired Hunt Yachts from the Hinckley Company.

DiMillo’s has also secured an exclusive license with Ray Hunt Designs, the iconic firm that developed the Deep-V hull, to use the Hunt name in production boat building. This will keep the famous Hunt Yachts brand alive and well.

The Hunt’s Ocean Series has models from 56 to 76 feet in both flybridge and Express cruiser models. These blue water-capable craft will fit neatly with DiMillo’s existing brands that include Sabre, Back Cove, MJM Yachts and Tiara Yachts.

“We were honored to have been asked by the team at Hinckley and Hunt Yachts to explore this opportunity to acquire Hunt Yachts,” said Chris DiMillo, founder of DiMillo’s Yacht Sales.

“As a Hunt owner myself, I have a deep personal appreciation for the brand’s design, performance, and heritage. It is both an honor and a privilege to be the steward of this iconic brand going forward.  My team is ecstatic about this next chapter – what Hunt Yachts will bring to DiMillo’s, and what we will bring to the brand and Hunt Yachts family.”

The announcement coincides with the opening of the Palm Beach International Boat Show, where DiMillo’s Yacht Sales showcased a Hunt 63 Flybridge.  “We worked diligently to bring this together in time for Palm Beach,” DiMillo added. “It is a momentous occasion for our team and an exciting opportunity to share the future of Hunt Yachts by DiMillo’s with our clients-present and future.”
