Turkish builder Renda Yachts which is based in the beautiful coastal town of Marmaris, has set for itself a lofty goal: They intend to build yachts for owner operators that deliver mega-yacht style and finish.
Their new Renda 62S has a very distinctive and aggressive look with a angular sheer, plumb bow, low black cabin and wide open transom. In a way, it looks like a boat for the villain of a Jame Bond novel complete with a giant laser to atomize his foes.
With aluminum hulls and deck structures, the boats are light and strong and deliver cruising speeds in the 30-knot range efficiently. Powered by twin Volvo 950-horsepower engines with IPS drives and Volvo’s JoyStick controls, the 62S will be a cinch for a couple to handle.

The 62S is a variation on the original 62 and the builder has embraced the indoor-outdoor lifestyle of summer cruising, particularly in the Med. They’ve added a spacious sunbed on the fore deck and an expanded sunning are in the aft cockpit.
The bar-style galley just forward of the aft sunbed is fully equipped. With the cockpit cover retracted, it is out in the open but can be covered when the weather demands.
The helm has twin bucket seats on both sides so the skipper and the co-pilots will have great visibility forward and secure seating when running through bouncy waves. Garmin has supplied a complete marine electronics package with large back glass screens.
The 62S is a three cabin, three-head boat. The master suite is in the bow with a large centerline double berth and a huge head and shower. Aft, there are two double cabins with double berths tucked under the salon floor and each has its own head and shower.
Turkey has established itself as a world leader in custom and semi-custom yacht building to rival Italy, Scandinavia and China. The new Renda 62 and 62S are elegant and beautifully made additions to that legacy.
