Cutwater Boats just won a prestigious Innovation Award at the Miami International Boat Show for its new 32 Command Bridge. In announcing the awards, one of the judges said, “A lot of engineering went into making a trailerable 32-foot retractable flybridge boat with all the features included.”
The annual Innovation Awards are a joint effort by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, which sponsors the boat show, and Boating Writers International. The jury is made up of seven boating writers. The awards recognize groundbreaking new consumer boating products.
The Cutwater 32 CB (pictured above) is powered by two 300-hp Yamaha outboards. It is unusual in this size range for an outboard-powered boat to have both a flybridge and the accommodations found inside the Cutwater 32. It has two full helm stations, and the bridge is accessed by stairs from the cockpit, making it safe for all members of a family. In addition to the upper helm, the flybridge has seating for four and a varnished fold-down table.
Below, the Cutwater 32, the flagship of the Cutwater fleet, is family friendly. The master cabin is forward, a second private cabin is amidships, and two people can sleep on the convertible dinette in the salon.
This year there were 18 categories for the Innovation Awards. Cutwater won in the Cabin Cruisers category. Some of the other winners:

Pleasurecraft Marine Engines PCM Z Series won in the Inboard Engine category.
