Hinckley, one of the proudest names in yachting, just introduced its innovative JetStick 4 control system that makes driving and docking easier than ever before.
The heart of the new JetStick is a Dock Hold feature that holds a boat against a dock while the owner secures the lines or performs other duties on deck or below. It’s more precise and seamless than previous versions, and is particularly useful for owners who are short-handed or don’t want to have to rely on guests to help in docking the yacht.
“Our clients want the best possible experience when they’re on the water, and they want it to be seamless,” said Geoff Berger, CEO of Hinckley Yachts. “We’re bringing commercial-grade reliability, digital processing and the latest satellite technology to make maneuvering your yacht a completely stress-free experience.”
State-of-the-art GPS hardware is built into JetStick 4, driven by hydraulic cylinders and lightning-fast digital processing to provide a precise location for controlling the yacht. The system’s Smart Mode Selection automatically selects between helm steering and JetStick modes. “We call it elegant yacht control,” says Scott Bryant, Hinckley’s VP of sales and marketing. “Operation of the joystick is now possible without having to look down and push buttons to change from one mode to another. The smart function is completely intuitive and does it for you. It’s easier than using your tablet or phone.”
Another function, Heading Hold, derives a linear course in a variety of conditions and at any speed, while adjusting steering and tension.
JetStick 4 is now available on all new Hinckleys and works with the next generation of Hamilton waterjets. The latest HJx technology from Hamilton waterjets means improved top-end performance and greater maneuverability around the docks.
