Solara is making a big splash with its new S-310 Sport Coupe, displaying it this week at the Newport show and then next month at both the Annapolis and Fort Lauderdale shows
The S-310 Sport Coupe is the newest model from Solara Boats, a company that was started just last year by Fluid Motion, the Kent, Washington, builder that makes Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats. “Solara is our new luxury adventure line of boats that are fast, fun, and ready for action,” John Livingston, the president of Solara (and Fluid Motion), said at the time.
The new 310 Sport Coupe has an open floorplan designed to be versatile, to be comfortable and safe whether owners are day cruising, fishing or enjoying watersports. The seats in the cockpit fold away, for example, to make that area larger for fishing, or fold down to create a social space to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of whatever; it gives you choices.
The cabin has a private forward stateroom that’s climate-controlled with reverse-cycle heat or AC. And it has an enclosed head with a macerating toilet and a hot-water shower.
The boat’s ten-foot beam provides a lot of stability at rest, and enough volume for a comfortable interior. It also means the 310 can be trailered.
Power comes from two Yamaha F300 outboards. The boat has a double-stepped hull for performance and laminar flow interrupters for a smooth ride and cornering. It also has digital electric steering and trim tabs. A bow thruster is standard.
Like all Fluid Motion boats, the new Solara comes with a lot of standard equipment, including an autopilot, Garmin navigation, Fusion sound, and bow and stern thrusters.
Base price is $383,937.
