Next week at the Palm Brach International Boat Show, America is going to have a special treat, the first showing of Maritimo Yachts’ flagship, the stunning 75 Flybridge. This Australian builder of high performance, sport-fish style motor yachts, has had a long and successful presence in North America. Now the queen is making a visit.

Like Australians and Australia itself, the new 75 Flybridge does not hold back, does not shy from going all in and to compete at a world-class level in design and build quality. The 75’s lines and strong pedigree evoke long offshore runs to favored Australian cruising meccas such as the Whitsunday Islands and even to Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef.

The 75, for all its size and might, is still a family cruising boat, albeit one that can accommodate crew if so desired. And it is the child of Australia’s outdoor lifestyle, given the nation’s mild and even warm climate.

The aft cockpit, after deck and stern platform are wide open beach front spaces with a built-in barbecue and room for beanies and water games and toys. You might have a thrill getting to your cruising destination, but when you arrive, you’ll have your own waterfront resort.

The 75 has a fully enclosed flybridge skylounge that effectively adds a full third floor to the dwelling spaces. With an indoor stair leading up to it, this will be the center of operations while underway and the favored social space with two sofa areas. The front sofa faces forward for guests while underway. The aft sofa is a cocktail area and TV room. Two patio-style sliding doors lead out to the balcony.

Maritimo is known for the size and elegance of their galleys. Being aboard is all about fun social times with family and friends so the galley, which is set aft in the salon, will be the center of your cooking and social life.

There are four sleeping cabins below. The master suite is amidships and spans the boat’s full beam. A couple could easily settle in here for full-time living aboard. The VIP guest cabin is in the fore peak and has a double berth and plenty of storage and hanging space. There is also a third double cabin with twin berths and a pullman cabin with upper and lower berths

A crew cabin with bunk-bed style berths is tucked in under the cockpit and is accessible from the stern platform. This will allow two crew to have their own private space.

The 75 is powered by twin Scania DI 16 engines rated at 1150 horsepower each and straight shafts. Maritimo likes to emphasize that the shaft set up, prop selection and hull design make the 75 one of the most fuel-efficient designs in her class. Her fuel tanks hold a whopping 2,641 gallons of diesel.

The Maritimo Flagship is an impressive cruising boat that is capable of long passages, far-off landfalls and many weeks or months of living aboard and cruising.  If you are going to the Palm Beach show, the 75 should be at the top of your list of must-see cruising boats.
