It has only been 15 years since Absolute emerged on the scene in a very crowed segment of the cruising market. Yet, by dint of extraordinary designs and inimitable style, the brand has now developed 10 models from 48 to 70 feet.
The new Navetta 62, which was introduced at last fall’s Cannes Festival of Yachting, bears all of her sisterships’ DNA. The plumb bow and hull sides bearing large sculptural glazing match very well with the low slung flybridge and the neat lines of the sheer and bulwarks. There is nothing shy about the new 62
The hydraulic stern platform aft is a large beach front. The cockpit has a glass panel across the stern to improve views and the outside space flows seamlessly into the salon where you’ll find the dinette, galley, U-shaped lounge and the inside helm
The salon windows are huge and create an almost greenhouse effect. Interestingly, the bulwarks that wrap around the side decks have cutout areas that provide a view of the sea from the salon and cockpit even when siting down.

The flybridge offers a large social area aft and the upper helm forward, all under the protection of the ridged hard top. This top will be a good place to mount solar panels that will in turn help the 62 power all hotel functions without the genset running.
The standard layout below calls for two large cabins with centerline double berths either of which could be considered the master cabin and a third cabin with twin bunks. All three cabins are filled with natural light from the hull glazing.

Although designed to be an owner-operated family cruiser, Absolute gives a nod to owners who want professional crew aboard so they created a small double crew cabin under the open cockpit with access through a door on the swim platform.
The Navtta 62 is powered by twin Volvo ISP 1350 D13s rated at 1,000-horsepower each. This propulsion package will deliver a top end speed north of 30 knots and comfortable cruising speeds between 20 and 28 knots.
Aggressively modern, the new 62 looks like it is in motion even when sitting still and exudes a level of brio—Italian exuberance—that makes it almost irresistible.
