The new Navetta 75 will have four staterooms and four heads, plus a separate crew quarter with its own galley and head. But what’s interesting is the master stateroom on an intermediate level between the main deck and the lower accommodations deck (pictured below). It’s in the bow, and it’s full beam with private access, premium furnishings, and a large en suite head. And it has large windows for spectacular views. Going aft, the cockpit is designed as a…

Megalodon Shark Much Worse Than We Thought

The bad news is that the megalodon shark was bigger, faster and fiercer than we had thought. In fact, it was 52 feet long, weighed 70 tons, swam faster than a great white, and could devour a 26-foot orca in just five bites. The good news is that the megalodon became extinct about 3.6 million years ago. Paleontologists and marine scientists have long tried to judge the real size of a megalodon. They had to make their estimates based on megalodon teeth discovered in the 1860s. Shark skeletons are largely cartilage, so they don’t result in many fossils. But now…

An explosive six-alarm fire roared through the Mattapoisett Boatyard on Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts on Friday afternoon. About 100 firefighters tried to extinguish the fast-spreading fire for more than five hours. Four people were injured, including three firefighters who were later released from the hospital. A 50-year-old man was seriously burned and remained in the hospital. All told, the fire destroyed five buildings, dozens of boats and more than three dozen vehicles. A yard worker told WJAR-TV that a boat in one of the yard’s sheds caught fire “and it went up very, very fast. Everything went up.” “We had a…
