This week, the gurus at BoatHowTo.com announced that their new course called Marine Diesel Engine Maintenance was live on their website and ready for attendees. The 11-hour series of seminars is given by Nigel Calder and Dr. Jen Athenstadt, the founders of the instructional website  and developers of the courses. The diesel maintenance course is the second in-depth course offered by the website. It follows the two courses on marine electrics, Boat Electrics 101 and Advanced Marine Electrics, which have been attended by more than two thousand boat owners and industry professionals. Nigel Calder will be well known in the…

The Palm Beach International Boat Show, which just gets better and better every year, opens on Thursday, March 21, and runs through Sunday, March 24. Only a month after the Miami show, the Palm Beach affair gathers a variety of upscale cruising boats in an inviting, relaxed, and easy-to-navigate venue that has an appeal all its own.  To my mind, Palm Beach is the Goldilocks of boat shows; not too big, not too small. It’s a boat-show case of less is more. The Palm Beach show is smaller than Miami, but some 800 boats will be on display this year,…

The popular and increasingly important Palm Beach International Boat Show starts next month, on Thursday, March 23, and runs through Sunday, March 26. It will have a lot of cruising boats on display, including many that were not at the Miami show last week. Over the past few years, the Palm Beach show has earned a reputation as a serious buyers’ show, for a lot of reasons. It’s a manageable show, where it’s easy to see the boats. They’re all in one location (as opposed to Miami), and the show is easy to get to, with parking and restaurants nearby.…

The 40th annual Palm Beach show that starts March 24 will be getting an extra amount of attention this year, as many people are waiting to see if all the record-setting performance of the past year, and the Miami show last month, will continue or will be hobbled by a host of recent events. For its part, the Miami show was a huge success, drawing more than 100,000 visitors to its five locations, and may boat companies reported record sales and profits. Dave Foulkes, the CEO of Brunswick, the largest boat builder in the U.S., said the show was “outstanding.”…

The Palm Beach International Boat Show opens next Thursday, March 25, and runs for four days. Since there was no Miami show this year, there’s a lot of  pent-up demand that most likely will be on display in Palm Beach next week; also on display will be lot of our favorite cruising boats from the U.S. and around the world. Here’s the story from The Palm Beach Post:  The 35th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show is sailing back into West Palm Beach Thursday, March 25, through Sunday, March 28, with fun and interactive activities for the entire family! Taking…

Here’s some good news: The City of West Palm Beach just officially approved the Palm Beach boat show that starts March 25. Read the story from the Palm Beach Daily News: The City of West Palm Beach on Monday granted final approval for the 35th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show, which is scheduled for four days starting March 25 along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. Organizers last month announced dates for the show with the caveat that the city needed to review and OK the boat show’s COVID-19 plans before giving the event the official go-ahead. Strict safety procedures that event…

The Palm Beach International Boat Show, which was held only virtually last year because of the pandemic, will be held live and in person this year, from Thursday, March 25, through Sunday, March 28. Informa, the London-based, international event-management company that runs the show, says it will observe the Covid 19 protocols to insure the health and safety of everyone involved. Face masks will be mandatory, and social distancing will be observed. Now in its 36th year, the Palm Beach show has become increasingly popular, because of its location and its manageable size. The show is centered along Flagler Drive…

The Palm Beach International Boat Show, rescheduled twice because of the coronavirus pandemic, now will open on Thursday, May 14. And you can watch it from the comfort of your home; it’s all on line. The 35th edition of the increasingly popular show originally was scheduled to run from March 26 through 29 on the West Palm Beach waterfront along Flagler Drive. Then, as virus spread, it was rescheduled from May 14 through 17. Now, Informa Markets, the organizers of the show, have decided to cancel the live event because of safety concerns and move it on line instead. The…

The Palm Beach International Boat Show, which has been growing in size and importance the past few years, starts on Thursday, March 26, and runs through Sunday, March 29. A handful of significant cruising powerboats will make their debuts there this year, while hundreds more will be on display. Now in its  35th year, the Palm Beach show has become increasingly popular because of its location and its manageable size. The show’s on Flagler Drive on West Palm Beach, where downtown meets the Intracoastal Waterway. It’s easy to get to, with lots of nearby parking, and it doesn’t have all…

The increasingly popular Palm Beach International Boat Show starts next Thursday, March 28, and runs through Sunday, March 31. The show’s location, in downtown Palm Beach along the Intracoastal Waterway, makes it easy to get to and easy to enjoy; it does not have the logistics problems and large crowds that hampered the big Miami shows last month. It also has the reputation as both a buyer’s and seller’s show, as people get ready for the spring and summer boating seasons. As a result, it will have a strong showing of a wide variety of new cruising powerboats. This will…
