Azimut Introduces New 78 Fly, with Three Volvo IPS Drives and Lots of Privacy for Guests

Azimut just introduced its new 78 Fly, the latest version of the luxury Italian builder’s carbon tech models. Azimut originally introduced the boat as a 76 Fly at the Miami boat show in February, but then added two feet to create more privacy on board for the owner and guests. It seemed like old times, the best of times, on Saturday afternoon at the New York Boat  Show. The new, highly creative 70-foot, four-cabin Azimut S7 won the “European Power Boat of the Year” for over 45-foot yachts at the Dusseldorf show in January, recognizing its innovative features inside and out. A contemporary, stylish Italian version of a classic trawler, the Azimut 66 Magellano is a four-cabin, four-head cruiser that is designed to bridge the gap between traditional blue-water boats (think Grand Banks or Fleming) and more avant-garde designs.
