Sunreef Building New 60 Power Cat; Offers Solar-Electric Version

Sunreef Yachts is building its new 60 Power Catamaran in its factory in Gdansk, Poland, and plans to launch the large, luxury multihull this summer. The 60 has the same lines as Sunreef’s 70-, 80-, and 100-feet power cats.  The boat is powered by twin diesels, but a solar-electric version also is available. Like its siblings, the 60 is built for long-range cruising. O Yachts Launches New “Smart Hybrid” Power Cat

O Yachts just launched its first powerboat, Power Class 6, a “smart hybrid” that can run on all-electric power or on a combination of diesel and electric power. The 63-foot cat, made in Latvia, is innovative, spacious and extremely fuel efficient. In fact, it burns less than one liter (0.264 gallons) of fuel per mile at 10 knots. New Greenline 45 Fly Hybrid To Debut at Lauderdale

Greenline, the innovative hybrid cruising boat company in Slovenia, will launch its new 45 Fly in the U.S. at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, starting Oct. 30. Repower, a Swiss Company, Is Trying To Transform the Electric Boat Market

Repower, a 100-year-old Swiss energy company, is showcasing its new 34-foot, all- electric boat, RepowerE, in northern Italy this summer, hoping that once people see it in action they will become believers themselves. The tour started in May in Liguria, near Genoa, and is moving to Lake Garda and Lake Varese, ending in Trieste in October. The original RepowerE boat served as a tourist boat on Lake Garda. Monaco Holds New Alternative-Power Races in July To Promote Clean-Energy Boats

The Principality of Monaco is holding a series of alternative energy boat races over three days in July designed to raise awareness about modern propulsion technologies. The event was started last year as the first Monaco Solar and Electric Boat Challenge. This year it has been expanded to include all types of clean-energy sources, although most boats probably will use solar or electric power.
