New Fountaine Pajot 37 MY: A Seakindly French Cat with Lots of Smart Space

The new Fountaine Pajot 37 MY, the company’s entry-level cruiser, is a combination of many things, all of them good. It has all the space inherent in a catamaran design, making for comfortable living and entertaining on board. It has the easy seakeeping ability also inherent in a cat, where the boat’s widely spaced hulls seem to glide over the water. And it has the modern, French esthetic that makes the boat stand out in a harbor anywhere in the world. Fountaine Pajot has a wealth of experience building cats, and the new 37 joins a 40 and a…

Fountaine Pajot MY 44 Named Best Passagemaker in London Awards Ceremony By Peter A. Janssen When he took us (George Day, our publisher, and me) through the new Fountaine Pajot MY 44 at the Fort Lauderdale boat show two months ago, Laurent Fabre, the U.S. head of the French company, talked about the “wow factor,” particularly the owner’s stateroom in the cat’s port hull. He was right; you could hold a party down there. But we thought then that the “wow factor” applied to the whole boat – and now a lot of other people agree with us. In fact,…

Fountaine Pajot Launches New Luxurious 44-foot Cat. See Video

And as you can see in the video, the boat handles well, running at its cruising speed or maneuvering around the docks, controlled by Volvo’s IPS joystick. The new 44 will be introduced to the U.S. at the Fort Lauderdale boat show next fall. For interior spaces, the salon has a long, inviting L-shaped sofa along the port side, with…

Fountaine-Pajot 37: Lots of Room, Lots of Performance

You really don’t appreciate how much room there is in the new Fountaine Pajot 37 power cat until you climb aboard. There’s space everywhere – in the clean, wide cockpit, the spacious flying bridge, the super-sized salon, the three cabins below and even more on the bow. When I was on the boat at a recent show, I looked around and counted nine other people there, with room to spare. Not bad for a 37-foot cruising boat. But extra space is only one of the advantages of this latest entry from a highly respected French builder. Performance is another. With…
