The new Herley is silent, and has minimal impact on the environment. It runs on solar/electric or diesel power. Its top performance comes from running on electric and diesel simultaneously. Silent Yachts Building New Solar/Electric Cat with VW

Silent Yachts just announced that is working with Volkswagen to develop a new solar/electric catamaran with the electric power coming from VW’s modular electric drive matrix. The still-unnamed cat is being designed by Cupra, a high-performance brand of the Spanish car manufacturer Seat, which is owned by Volkswagen. The new cat will run on Silent’s own photovoltaic system, with the propulsion based on VW’s electric drive system. Sunreef Yachts just announced that it’s building a new 60 Sunreef Power Eco luxury power cat that seems to be covered with Sunreef’s proprietary state-of-the art solar panels for art totally green cruising. Alva Building New Electric Eco Cruiser 50 Monohull

Alva Yachts just announced that they are building an Eco Cruiser 50, the first monohull electric-powered yacht. The new Eco Cruiser will be powered by two electric motors producing a total of 272 hp with solar panels and the option of hydrogen fuel cells for totally self-sufficient, green, emissions-free cruising. Greenline Building New 45 Coupe Hybrid Cruiser

Greenline is building a new 45 Coupe hybrid that it plans to introduce at the Düsseldorf show in January. It’s a sport version of the 45 Fly that made its U.S. debut at the Miami show last February. Aquanima 40: New Solar-Powered, Blue-Water Cruising Cat

Azura Marine just launched the first boat in a new line of solar-powered, blue-water cruising catamarans in Bali, Indonesia, called the Aquanima 40. The new cat is designed to be self-sustaining, and the company says it can complete “non-stop ocean voyages powered only by sunlight.” And it costs about $540,000. Sunreef Building New 60 Power Cat; Offers Solar-Electric Version

Sunreef Yachts is building its new 60 Power Catamaran in its factory in Gdansk, Poland, and plans to launch the large, luxury multihull this summer. O Yachts just launched its first powerboat, Power Class 6, a “smart hybrid” that can run on all-electric power or on a combination of diesel and electric power.
