Riviera just announced that it will launch its new 645 SUV, the flagship of its SUV fleet, in April. The largest luxury motor yacht builder in Australia, Riviera says the new 645 offers longer-range offshore cruising capability and more entertaining and living space than its previous models. The SUV fleet, now with six models starting at 39 feet, is designed to combine offshore performance with entertaining features to make life comfortable underway, even in Australia’s often-challenging sea conditions.

The new 645 is powered by twin 1,300-hp MAN diesels, with straight shafts. MAN 1,550-hp powerplants are optional, and produce a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 34 knots. A joystick at the helm makes for easy low-speed maneuvering.

Owners can choose from two design styles: The traditional Classic Edition, or what the company calls the more avant-garde Newport Edition. After that, they can order the yacht with three staterooms and two heads, two staterooms with two heads, or two staterooms with one head. The master, in any version, is a full-beam affair. A lower lounge and crew cabin are options.

The 645’s cockpit is large and open for entertaining and can be fit out for a wide range of water sports. A three-seat transom lounge invites relaxing, and an optional  awning extending from the hardtop provides protection from the elements. An electric grill awaits barbeques.

Just forward of the cockpit, all on the same level, is a semi-enclosed entertainment lounge with a galley and island bench seating. A large L-shaped sofa and a table are opposite, on the starboard side. Forward,  a side door leads from the salon to the walkaround side decks. The centered helm has seating for two. And the foredeck has seating for eight to ten on a series of lounges with a cocktail table.
