Lazzara Launches First UHV 87 with Lots of Room

Lazzara just launched its new UHV 87, the first in its Ultra-High-Volume series. It doesn’t look like most other cruising yachts, but that’s the point. Lazzara says the UHV 87 has the largest gross tonnage in its class, and it’s designed to have more interior volume than other yachts. And all that room is built to superyacht standards, according to the company.

The UHV 87 has four staterooms below, plus two for crew, and they have enough room to rival a much larger yacht. But what’s really unusual comes up top.

The Sky Lounge is built for luxurious living and entertaining, day and night. There’s a bar for four in front of floor-to-ceiling windows, plus a game table with seats for six, a sofa that faces a large movie and TV screen, and a day head.

The wheelhouse is just forward, providing the captain with 180-degree elevated views. An elevated lounge area is just aft of the helm, and the entire area has sophisticated detailing including exotic woods and artisan leather work. Doors on the port and starboard sides provide access to the foredeck.

The aft area of the Sky Lounge deck is an outdoor social space, with a table seating eight, a settee, bar and grill and optional Jacuzzi. There’s another social area on the foredeck, with a spacious sun pad, a crescent-shaped seating area and a settee.

The salon and formal dining area are filled with natural light from floor to ceiling windows. The dining area has seating for eight under chandelier lighting, and the salon has a large sofa, matching love seat and a big-screen TV and entertainment center. Sliding doors next to the dining table open to look out the starboard side through a glass bulwark.

Below, the master stateroom has a king-sized bed, twin seating areas and a desk and lounge space. The master head has a marble countertop, dual sinks, and a shower with a glass enclosure. The VIP stateroom is forward, and two guest staterooms are a bit aft.

The Lazzara UHV 87 is powered by twin 720-hp Volvos, giving the yacht a range of 2,000 nm at 12 knots. Optional twin 1,000-hp Volvos provide a top speed of 16 knots.

Specs.: LOA: 87’0”; Beam: 23’6”; Draft: 5’3”; Disp.: 228,600 lbs.; Fuel: 3,082 gals.; Water: 528 gals.; Power: 2×720-hp Volvo D11 diesels. Read more at http://lazzarayachts.com and see a video of the launching here:
