Miami being Miami, yachts and high-end boats of various sizes and shapes were a big part of the scene at Art Basel Miami Beach last week.

Nico Sell, the former professional snowboarder who’s now an entrepreneur and surfer, introduced  her new Maverick GT Jet RIB and Energy Platform, which basically fits an electric-powered jet ski into a RIB hull for use as a tender. The jet ski part of this creation can be used for tow-in surfing.

The Maverick GT Jet RIB has a 350-hp electric engine that won’t disturb marine life, and enough torque to handle big breaking waves. It has a top speed of 70 mph and a range of 50 to 100 miles. The jet ski part costs about $150,000, and the entire package costs about $500,000.

For its part, Cigarette Racing used the Art Basel event to auction seven NFTs involving the 59-foot Cigarette Tirranna with six Mercury outboards. A winning bidder on a virtual Tirranna won a day on a real Tirranna, plus some Cigarette accessories. Read more:
