Superyachts for Sale, Cheap. Some Water Damage

Mavi Yachts in Istanbul has a deal for you. It has three superyachts, all damaged by Hurricane Irma in 2017, in its yard in Istanbul. It will sell them to you as is, or it will rebuild them to their former glory and you can buy them for a fraction of their original price.

The yachts are a Mondomarine 136; a Sanlorenzo 126, and a Benetti 94. Mavi, founded in 2001, says they offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a new buyer.

They all are survivors of the Category 5 hurricane, although they suffered various categories of damage, including total submersion. But Mavi says they are all products of first-rate builders and can be rebuilt to their pre-hurricane condition.

Mavi has the hull and construction drawings of all three, so it can rebuild them to the proper specifications. It says it can return each one to “nearly new” at an enormous savings to a new owner.

The Mondomarine 136 Sierra Romeo, pictured at top and above, was launched in 2007. It is one of just two yachts in the builder’s 41M series, and once sold for $10 million. It was damaged in Saint Martin during the hurricane. You can buy it now, as is, for $713,000, or Mavi will make it like new for an additional $6.15 million.

The Benetti 94 Mariale V (above) was launched in 2015, with an exterior by Stefano Righini Design. Benettis in that size range are selling in the $6 million range. You can buy Mariale V as is for $436,000, but the insides were ripped out. Or you can buy the refit for $2.6 million more.

The Sanlorenzo 126 Princess Claudia 11 (above) was launched in 2011. It was submerged by the hurricane and had to be dredged out of the water in Saint Martin. It’s now for sale for $918,000; the refit by Mavi would cost an additional $6.7 million. Read more:
