De Antonio Yachts will launch its creative new D36, with twin outboards hidden under a large sun pad aft, at the Cannes Yachting Festival, starting Sept. 6.

Built in the De Antonio yard in Barcelona, the new D36 can hold twin outboards from 300- to 450-hp. With the larger outboards, the boat cruises at 27 knots and tops out at 45 knots.

De Antonio now builds five models from 28 to 50 feet. The D36 comes in both an Open and a Cruiser version: the Cruiser has a basic T-type hard top or an extended hard top to provide more protection from the weather.

The D36 is a multi-purpose boat. It has a basic cabin and full head with shower below for overnights, while there are social areas for enjoying days on the water. The box covering the outboards aft extends the cabin’s usable space, while minimizing noise. A large aft-facing sun pad is on top, and walkways on both sides lead to a large swim platform, a feature that often is not available on outboard-powered boats.

Walkways port and starboard lead all the way to the sun pad on the foredeck. A U-shaped dinette with a large table is forward of the aft sun pad and three seats face the helm.

Below, the D36 has a stark modern look with one open cabin. A double berth in the bow converts to a dinette; a U-shaped dinette a bit aft also can be converted to a double bed.

The boat has a deep-V hull with twin steps for performance.
