Boarncruiser 50 Traveller To Make Debut

The new Boarncruiser 50 Traveller will make its public debut at the big Düsseldorf show, starting Jan. 21. The boat, named Daddy Cool, was launched in the Netherlands in November, and the owners plan to cruise it to the Med in the spring.

The yard describes the semi-custom, steel-hulled 50 Traveller, the newest addition to the Boarncruiser fleet, as “a pocket-size mega-yacht with a beautiful round-bilge, covered-gangways and modern wings emphasizing a Mediterranean atmosphere.”

The yacht has three staterooms below with a mid-ships master accessed via a private spiral staircase from the salon. The VIP cabin forward has its own head and shower. The smaller third cabin is a multifunctional space with room for a bunk bed; it can also serve as an office.

The Boarncruiser line, with a 43 and 46 Traveler, is well known in Europe. Boarncruisers won the European Power Boat of the Year Award in 2017, and were nominated in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

They are under the overall umbrella of the family-owned Boarnstream Yachts, one of the largest Dutch builders, with motor yachts going up to 98 feet. Boarnstream, founded in 1964, has built more than 1,100 yachts so far, and it builds to an owner’s requirements, adding to, or subtracting from, a particular line’s standard measurements. If an owner wants a Boarncruiser 50 Traveller that’s actually 53 feet long, for example, the yard will happily add the extra three feet.

Even with its flybridge, the Boarncruiser 50 Traveller has a relatively low air draft of 14’ 4”,  so it can fit under a lot of bridges along European waterways. Power comes from a single 175-hp Yanmar diesel, producing a cruising speed of 7 knots and a top speed of 10 knots.

We don’t have too many details yet, but the 50 Traveller is 50’ 1” long, with a beam of 15’ and a draft of 4’ 10”. Read more at http://boarnstream.com and see the video below.
