Easy Living on the Cruisers 50 Cantius

The new Cruisers 50 Cantius is an easy-to-like couple’s cruising boat made for entertaining or coastal cruising.

The entertaining part starts all the way aft, where a grill is built into the transom so you can stand on the swim platform (fresh from a swim or water sports) and make some burgers or dogs. The large swim platform itself lowers into the water for easy access to those activities.

The entertaining part then moves all the way forward where there are sun lounges and a cocktail table on the foredeck. In between, there are more social areas in the cockpit, the salon, and even on the lower accommodations deck, where you’ll find a second, smaller salon with a sofa and retractable TV.

For the performing part, standard power comes from Volvo IPS600 pod drives, producing a top speed of more than 29 knots and a range of 277 nm at 25 knots. Optional Volvo IPS700s top out at more than 32 knots and a range of 245 nm at 25 knots.

The helm has double seats with flip-up bolsters and armrests. The salon offers 360-degree views from large windows all around; more light, and ventilation, comes from an opening sunroof overhead. The salon has an open type layout including the galley aft with a dinette; retractable windows open aft from the galley to serve the cockpit and to join the social spaces inside and outside the yacht.

The cockpit has wraparound seating and a large settee. A joystick there to help with docking is an option.

Below, the master stateroom is full beam amidships with a walkaround island bed with a table, built-in seats, a vanity, lots of storage and an en suite head and shower. The VIP stateroom forward has a walkaround queen bed, panoramic windows, and access to the second head. A third, smaller cabin is on the starboard side with bunk beds.

Bridge clearance is 15’ 7” so the Cantius 50 can slide under the bridges on the Great Loop.

Cruisers Yachts, based in Oconto, Wisconsin, has a proud history going back 70 years. In April, 2021, Cruisers bought the Carver and Marquis plant in nearby Pulaski, and a month later MarineMax bought Cruisers. The 50 Cantius is made in the Pulaski plant.
