New Princess X80 with Luxury Sky Lounge

The new British-built Princess X80, with its creative glazing, super-sized sky lounge and a foredeck with a Jacuzzi, is now in the U.S.

It also has a large main deck with an extra space all the way forward that can be either a dinette with 270-degree views or a fifth stateroom, complete with its own head and shower and door to the side deck. (So far, about half the buyers in the U.K. have ordered the dinette, while the other half want the stateroom.)

The new Princess X80 doesn’t lack for power. It comes with twin 1,900-hp MAN diesels, producing a top speed of 31 knots and a range of 340 nm at 24 knots. Dial back to 8 knots, and the range jumps to 1,817 nm.

You can climb on the yacht via a large, teak swim platform, which also provides access to the tender garage. Up a few stairs, the aft deck is protected by the overhang from the flybridge. It has a luxurious sofa and table aft, with the usual wet bar and entertaining area.

Three large glass doors lead to the salon, where large side windows admit lots of natural light; the views from sofas on both sides are spectacular. The galley is forward. It has a pantograph door opening to the starboard side deck, and it can be closed off for privacy. Push a button and a partition drops down to separate it from the salon. A day head is on the port side.

You can reach the Princess X80’s sky lounge via stairs from the salon. Two helm seats are forward with lounges on both sides and a dining table for ten. You can close off the helm station with sliding partitions. Glass doors aft then lead to the open aft deck, with more lounges, chairs, a wet bar and grill. All the way forward, ahead of the helm station, two large sun pads lie in wait as another social area, including a fridge.

The accommodations deck below has four large staterooms, all with en suite heads and showers. The master is full-beam amidships; the VIP is forward; a double berth guest cabin is to starboard, and a twin-berth cabin is to port.
