Outer Reef just commissioned its first 830 Classic Motoryacht, a luxurious long-range cruiser, for its new, and repeat, owners in Fort Lauderdale. You can see this latest Outer Reef at the Palm Beach show that starts on March 21.

The 830 is the latest addition to Outer Reef’s X Class fleet, designed for ocean-crossing capabilities. It’s a combination of timeless motoryacht lines with cutting-edge features and technology. Hull number one was made for owners of an Ocean Reef 700 Classic who wanted more space for entertaining and spending time on board.

They already were familiar with Outer Reef’s craftsmanship and seakeeping abilities. The new 830 is an ocean-capable yacht with trans-Atlantic range. Outer Reef is capitalizing on its blue-water experience. Indeed, two Outer Reefs have gone around Cape Horn, one with Jeff Druek, the company president, on board.

The interior of the 830 is designed to be warm and relaxing. The salon has a walnut veneer interior for a clean and classic look. A U-shaped sofa is aft, and a dining table, seating six, is forward; diners can enjoy panoramic views from the 830’s large side windows.

The galley and pilothouse are forward. The galley has full-sized appliances to support a long cruise; a galley island has a waterfall-edge design with bar stools making it an inviting social space. The pilothouse has doors opening to the side decks, and interior stairs leading up to the large flybridge. The aft deck has a settee facing a dining table; it’s protected by the overhang from the flybridge overhead.

The new 830 has a flexible layout below. The master stateroom is full-beam amidships and the VIP is forward with a guest cabin in between. The yacht has a dedicated laundry room with an option to convert it to a bunk for the fourth stateroom forward, while the crew quarter aft also could serve as another guest cabin.

The new Outer Reef is powered by twin 1800-hp Cat diesels, with a cruising speed of 18 knots and a top speed of 23 knots. Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters are standard; so are two sea chests.

Specs.: LOA: 80’0”; Beam: 21’0”; Draft: 5’6”; Disp.: 179,000 lbs.; Fuel: 3,000 gals.; Water: 500 gals.; Power: 2×1800-hp Cat diesels.
