The WiLder 60 was Born to Be Wild

Wider Yachts, based near Venice, Italy, builds super yachts for owners who can and do drive super cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis. So, when an owner asked them to build a 60-foot motorboat along the lines of a super car, Wider knew what to do.

The WiLder 60 is the result, with the capital L added for emphasis. This all aluminum, sleek and distinctive yacht evokes the futuristic designs of super cars and combines that with the luxurious accommodation and appointments of  Wider’s super yachts.

To be used primarily as a sporty day boat, the 60 has large lounging planforms fore and aft which can host a dozen revelers and sun worshipers. Think Silvio Berlusconi and his bunga bunga parties.

The 60 has walk-around side decks and high bulwarks so guests can move safely and easily even when this rocket is maxed out at 40 knots.

But on a more sober level, the WiLder 60 is also a cruising boat on steroids. Down below, the salon makes good use of the boat’s 17-foot beam and is fitted out with the finest Italian fabrics and liners.  The galley is minimal but will do for overnights.

The master cabin had a centerline double berth with plenty of space around it. There are drawers and hangling lockers and a large owner’s head.  Two guest cabins with twin berths round out the sleeping facilities for a total of six. The joinery looks impeccable.

The WiLder 60 is powered by twin Mann 1300 V8 diesel engines that drive surface-drive Top racing propellers. The 60 is equipped with a joystick for docking and maneuvering and provides dynamic-position control.

The dashboard at the helm looks like that of an airplane yet the systems are all integrated, so the boat essentially looks after itself.  There’s something about instruments and dials that evoked supercarness.

This is not a cruising boat for everyone but if your jaw drops when a Ferrari roars by it will hit the floor then the WiLder 60 goes to wide-open-throttle. Read more here.
