The Italian builder Absolute offers three models, the Navetta line, the Flybridge line and the Coupe line and while all are successful and interesting, the Navetta designs are the ones getting the most attention recently.
This year Absolute is launching two new Navetta models at BOOT Dusseldorf next week, the 53 and 64, and both show numerous tweaks and improvements to the otherwise established design theme of the past. We’ll look at the 53 here and then come back to the 64 down the road.
The 53 has an expanded foredeck lounging area and higher bulwarks, with an attractive cut out as they run aft to the cockpit. The cockpit aft has new glass balustrades and twin facing bench sofas for socializing or lounging in the shade provided by the flybridge.
The beach club at the transom has been enlarged and will be another fine place to lie in the sun or enjoy water sports. Note the chalks in the stern deck for stowing a RIB wile under way. If you didn’t know it was there, you might miss the fact that there is a crew cabin under the cockpit with a private entrance in the transom. This space is surprisingly large and comfortable and will keep crew happy when out cruising.
The flybridge is huge and has both outdoor and covered seating, plus a galley and fridge. In good weather, the family will live up here where they can enjoy the views and the company of guests and relatives.
The hull has been given much larger hull ports and the salon has expansive windows. The net effect is a sense of indoor-outdoor living that keeps you close to nature and always living in plenty of natural light.
The designers made the decision that they weren’t going overboard with sleeping accommodations. Instead, they created a master suite amidships that uses the boat’s full beam to create a sumptuous space. Forward there is a VIP guest cabin with a large double berth and head. Between them, a twin-berth cabin provides beds for children or for guests who are not partners.
The new Navetta 53 is powered by twin Volvo D6 IPS 650 diesels and caries 540 gallons of fuel.
The Navetta line and the new 53 are wholesome family cruisers with an excellent range and enough luxury and style to match any other similar boats in the harbor. Read more here.
