The world’s largest indoor boat and watersports show is running this week in Dusseldorf, Germany.  The show occupies 16 large halls and there are more than 1,500 exhibitors displaying everything to do with boating and watersports. The show runs through January 26.

One of the fun things about the show is you get to see some models and brands that aren’t often seen in U.S. shows. While there are dozens of new boats being introduced this week, here’s a quick look at six that caught our eye.

Aquador 400HT

The Swedish builder Nimbus has their new Aquador 40 hard top on display. The boat is the flagship of the line and manages to pack a huge amount of living space in a relatively small package. With high topsides and narrow side decks, the designers have created a huge amount of interior volume that makes room for three double cabins and a forward salon.  The 400HT comes with either inboard or outboard power and will make a roomy and handy weekender.

Galeon 435 GTI

The Polish builder’s new 43 footer (Grand Touring Icon) comes with  brand new look because of the huge backward sweeping windshield. This opens the salon to a huge amount of natural light and wide open vistas. The salon itself is an indoor-outdoor living area that can be buttoned up in bad weather or when running fast. The boat has a huge lounging area on the foredeck and two sleeping cabins down below.

Princess F 58

Princess Yachts, based in England, is displaying its new F58 (flybridge) that is replacing the popular F55. Note the low-profile flybridge that is nestled neatly into the main cabin top and almost invisible. Forward there is a large sunning area and aft the builder has added a dinghy garage and a hydraulic swim platform. The three cabin design is full of natural light from the large windshield and the glazing in the salon and cabins. The master suite has a walk-in closet that will appeal to couples who want to live aboard

Riva Super Iseo

With classic Italian, Lake Como styling, Riva yachts are always the prettiest boats in any harbor, boats that evoke la dolce vita. Their new Super Iseo at 27 feet replaces the former Iseo and adds both styling and performance. The boat has simply lovely lines and a dash of tumblehome aft.  The Iseo has twin seats at the helm, a U-shaped dinette, a large sunbed and a beautiful teak swim platform. The new Riva is a real head turner, as it was meant to be.

Solaris 60 Power Coupe

This Italian builder, with its factory on the Venetian lagoon always comes up with new designs that are distinctive, stylish and beautifully built. The new 60 Coupe embraces the new trend for indoor-outdoor living in the salon with its retracting sun roof,  open-air aft cockpit aft and by wrapping the boat with huge windows. The boat can have three cabins, or an owner can opt for two full-beam cabins and a small lounge below decks. This 60-footer will make an elegant floating home and is no slouch either with a top speed of 36 knots.

XO Explr 44

Finnish boat builders have truly embraced the stealth-military-looking design trend in super fast express cruisers and day boats. The XO Explr 44 fits right into that category with its plumb bow, flat T top, vertical windshield and side windows and the menacing bare aluminum topsides. While the 44 is built for fast offshore runs it also has walk-around side decks, a large sun bed forward and an outdoor dinette aft. With three 400-horsepower Mercury V10, the Explr 44 has a top end of 57 knots.
