New Outer Reef 610 Motoryacht: Built for Couples, Comfort and Cruising

Designed to be run by a cruising couple, the new Outer Reef 610 Motoryacht is spacious, fuel-efficient and easy to maneuver. Indeed, in early July hull number one carried its new owners, a couple from Newport, Rhode Island, on a shakedown cruise from Fort Lauderdale up to their home in five days with just two pit stops, although they had a captain from Outer Reef to help them get acquainted with the boat. Then they cruised New England waters for the rest of the summer themselves. That boat will be displayed at the Newport International Boat Show, starting Sept. 14.…

Outer Reef Owner Rescues 5: His Story

Nick and Robin, experienced cruisers, took delivery of their new Outer Reef 610 motoryacht Silver Skye last year. Here’s his first-hand account: “Last Friday, as we were traveling from Hadley Harbor (a New England anchorage and cruising ground south of Cape Cod) in the Elizabeth Islands to Quincy, Massachusetts, I spotted what I initially thought was an individual on a jet ski. “As I looked closer, I saw that he was waving frantically. I changed…

The big news about the big Miami boat shows next month is that the Miami Yacht Show, which had been up on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach for the past 30 years, is moving to downtown Miami. The traffic problems on Collins, and the show’s distance from the large Miami International Boat Show down on Virginia Key, were just too much. This year the yacht show will open at its new location on Biscayne Bay, at One Herald Plaza, between the MacArthur and Venetian Causeways, with a brand new look and layout; it also will be at Sea Isle Marina…
