The Moorings is opening a new charter base in the Spanish Virgin Islands, the easy-to-get-to, easy-to-enjoy cruising grounds on the east coast of Puerto Rico. The new location is at Puerto Del Ray Marina in Fajardo, just a 45-minute cab ride from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, which has many direct flights from the U.S. And U.S. citizens, of course, do not need a passport to visit there. The marina is the largest in the Caribbean, with a dockside bar and restaurant, gourmet store, marine stores and free wi-fi. From there it’s not far to some of the Caribbean’s most…

With its 21’6” beam carried all the way forward, the Aquila 44 catamaran has space – and more space – just about everywhere. The three-stateroom, three-head boat also has a lot of privacy. These boats are in addition to the entire fleet of Moorings crewed yachts, which…

If you’re still looking for an over-the-top charter this summer, there’s still time to head for St. Tropez, surely one of the most glamorous destinations in the world. Yachts are still available, and more slots will open up as the fall season begins. If you need more reasons to charter in St. Tropez, look here: http://www.boatbookings.com/blog/2016/08/04/st-tropez-in-a-nutshell/

Not that you should need them, but if you’re looking for more reasons to charter a bareboat powerboat in the Abacos, here goes. And these are in addition to the reasons that I personally love cruising there  – some of the most beautiful water in the world, great white beaches, terrific marinas and resorts, and the chance to get away from it all. And they’re nearby. http://www.moorings.com/blog/five-experiences-you-can-only-have-bahamas
