New Electric Frauscher x Porsche Just Launched

The new Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air was just launched at Lago di Garda in northern Italy for the first time. The innovative new 28-foot electric runabout uses powertrain technology from Porsche’s all-electric Macan, which is still under development. The Frauscher x Porsche comes with 400 kW of electric power and has a top speed of 46 knots. At its optimum cruising speed of 22 knots, the lithium-ion battery with a 100 kWh capacity lasts about an hour; the battery also comes from the Macan. The boat uses 80-volt technology for fast charging. The battery can be charged with…

Porsche and Frauscher Planning All-Electric Boat

Porsche and Frauscher, the Austrian boat builder, just announced that they’re working together to produce a 30-foot, all-electric boat next year. The boat will use the electric platform that Porsche is planning for its first all-electric vehicle, the Taycan sports saloon. The new boat will be called the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air electric yacht. It’s based on Frauscher’s existing 858 Fantom Air, and it will have power from Porsche’s Premium Platform Electric, including a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor, and 800-volt DC charging so it can be charged at DC fast-charging stations. (AC charging will also…

New Frauscher 1414 Demon: Custom Cool

If you’re looking for cool, the new Frauscher 1414 Demon should fill the bill. Indeed, it’s one of the coolest looking boats (at least in my humble opinion) made in Europe today. The plain-vanilla 45-foot 1414 Demon isn’t too shabby, but the Austrian builder will customize yours almost any way you want. Consider the Frauscher 1414 Demon displayed at the Düsseldorf show in January, for example. That boat had a unique customized dark metallic grey finish to match the color of the owner’s Audi. And every stainless-steel fitting (more than 1,000 screws, fittings and cleats) was powder-coated in matte black…

Frauscher Launching New, Much More Powerful, All-Electric Boat

As evidence of the rapid advances in electric-powered recreational boats, Frauscher Bootswerft is introducing its new 740 Mirage Air all-electric upscale day cruiser at the European shows this fall, and it has much more power and twice the battery capacity than Frauscher had in previous models. With its light weight (4,188 pounds), and 100-kW Torqeedo Deep Blue inboard motor, the new Frauscher tops out at about 31 mph. Dialed back to 6 mph, it can run silently, with no fossil emissions, for ten hours. The electric power is provided by two 40-kWh Deep Blue batteries, the same batteries that MBW…
