New Longreach Power Cats from Australia

Longreach Power Catamarans from Australia are new players in the fast-growing international power cat market. They won’t launch their first boat until next year, but they’ve already sold several boats, including two of their most-popular 44-foot models to experienced cruisers in the U.S. The company, based just outside Sydney, is making 58-foot and 40-foot production models in addition to the 44 (shown above). New Electric-Powered Cat from Whisper Yachts

The world of electric-powered luxury catamarans is getting bigger and bigger. Whisper Yachts, a new company, just announced that it’s building a 50-foot eco-friendly autonomous power cat that will be delivered in 2023. The new Whisper 50 will combine electric propulsion with all the comforts of a larger yacht. Its propulsion and energy management are based on the Deep Blue system from Torqeedo, with two 100kW shaft-driven motors powered by 200kWh BMW batteries. Fountaine-Pajot just launched its first MY4.S power catamaran. It will show the sporty looking cat, with a knife-like entry, low profile and lounging spaces all around, at the Cannes Yachting Festival starting Sept. 7, before bringing it to the U.S. At 36-feet, the MY4.S is the French builder’s new entry-level cat, replacing the popular 37; it has sold about 100 37s since it launched the model five years ago. Two Oceans Launches Luxurious 850 Power Cat

Two Oceans Marine, the large catamaran builder in Cape Town, South Africa, recently launched a new 850 E Power Catamaran, an ocean-crossing vessel with all the comforts of home, down to its Ralph Lauren fabrics on the sun beds and cushions. Founded in 1989, Two Oceans specializes in building power and sail catamarans from 23 to 110 feet, for blue-water cruising, fishing and commercial use. Alva Yachts, the fairly new German builder, is making a 90-foot flagship all-electric power cat that has trans-Atlantic range and a cruising speed of 8 to 10 knots.
