MAN Building New Flagship 2,200-hp Diesel

MAN will unveil its flagship V12X 2200-hp marine diesel at the Cannes show, starting Sept. 6. The new MAN has a significant 30-liter displacement and generates its 2200-hp (1618kW) at 2300 rpm. It’s the Munich-based builders most powerful engine for recreational boats. “The MAN V12X marks the next generation of yacht engines,” said Werner Kübler, MAN’s head of engineering. “The redesign of the MAN V12X is accompanied by extra displacement for shipyards. The new system combines conventional diesel and electric modes, as well as providing another mode with zero emissions at anchor.
