Electric Ferry Sets World Record

A 198-foot all-electric ferry just said a new world record of cruising 50 nm on a single battery charge, according to its builder. The ferry, named Ellen, cruised from Sónderborg, Denmark, where it was on display at the International Energy Agency’s annual conference, back home to its base in the islands in the south of Denmark. Danfoss Editron, which supplied the ferry’s drivetrain and motors, said it would submit the cruise to Guinness World Records for the longest sea voyage on a single charge. Foiling Candela C-8 To Make Venice Debut

The Beneteau Group just launched its first all-electric boat, the 35-foot Delphia 11, designed to cruise lakes and rivers in peace and quiet, leaving no emissions behind. New Partnership Strengthens Electric Boating in U.S.

Aqua superPower and X Shore have joined forces to electrify American boating. Indeed, the two companies had one of X Shore’s Eelex 800 electric boats plugged into an Aqua superPower fast charger last week at the Palm Beach boat show. New 16-Knot Hybrid Hardy 42 Cruiser

The new Hardy 42 is a solid, traditional trawler-type design with a high-tech twist. It’s a hybrid, with a 16-knot top speed coming from a single 440-hp Yanmar diesel, or a 6-knot top speed from its 20kW electric motor.
