An American fisherman who had been missing or 13 days in the Pacific was found by a passing fishing boat off the coast of Vancouver Island in Canada. Ryan Planes and his uncle, John, both from Sooke, British Columbia, were out fishing when they thought they saw something in the water. A San Francisco startup has launched a new Valo Hyperfoil, built with a combination of carbon fiber, titanium and stainless steel, that flies over the water at 35 knots, leaving no noise, emissions or wake behind. Boundary Layer Technologies, the company, says the Valo “is a high-performance, semi-autonomous, electric hydrofoiling vehicle with wings to fly above the water.
