Lynx Yachts in The Netherlands just launched the first of its Crossover series, a 27M built for an experienced owner in California. The 89’ 9” displacement expedition yacht, powered by two 850-hp CATs, has a range of 1,800 nm at 12.5 knots. The company says the Crossover designation means the yacht “embraces the qualities of a graceful superyacht and the versatility of a support vessel in one fully customizable expedition yacht that delivers more than meets the eye.” They say it’s a long-range SUV on the water. The name of the new Crossover is Avontuur (Dutch for Adventure) and that…

If you really want to make an entrance, or just turn heads everywhere you go, take a look at the J Craft 42 Torpedo that just made its U.S. debut at the Palm Beach show. Iliad Catamarans just announced that they’re making a new 53S low-profile, long-range power cat with outstanding space, economy and performance. Founded in Australia in 2019, Iliad so far has produced a fleet of 50, 62 and 74 power cats, but they’re all flybridge models. The new 53S is a sporty looking sedan, with an air draft of just 14’ 7” so it can slide under bridges along the waterways of the world. Iliad says the 53S comes with twin 440-hp Volvos or Yanmars, producing a top speed of 24 knots and a range of more than 3,000 nm. The new…

Here’s an early look at a sporty new entry in the growing power catamaran field, the 38-foot Seavy 11 from a new French builder, Sea Venture Yachting. The Seavy 11 is an ultra-modern, ultra-modular cat. It already has more deck space, by a long shot, than a similar-sized monohull, but you can fold down the platforms on each side of the aft deck to add another three feet to the already large 14-foot beam. And it comes with three power options – sterndrives, outboard, or electric. The company says that with twin 370-hp sterndrives, the Seavy 11 tops out at…

If you’re thinking about a second boat or a runabout, take a look at the new U23i Thoroughbred from a small startup company in Manistee, Michigan, on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. The new 23-footer is a product of the Thoroughbred Boat Company, and the brainchild of Mike Kamaloski, the company’s founder and president. “We decided we were going to take the excitement and style of boats of the past and bring it to today’s generation,” he told upnorthlive.com. “We built a modern-day classic.” The new 23, called “Maiden Manistee,” has inboard power from a single 365-hp Ilmor engine,…

Rayglass, a New Zealand builder, said they had to customize and strengthen the transom to handle the weight and torque of the massive V12, 7.6 liter displacement outboards. A new 600-hp Verado weighs 1,260 pounds. The boat itself is just 11’ 10” long, and weighs 285 pounds. Highfield recommends that you use a 25-hp outboard on the 360GT (although you can go up to a 30-hp model).
